The ripple effect is when you drop an object into water and a ripple is formed that becomes larger and larger. Many of you have seen this yourself.  It’s nice to be reminded of this when it comes to our actions as well. You may never know the impact of your actions on others.

After a long (and painful) battle with myself about starting a blog, I decided to do it. Before starting it, I felt I didn’t have anything to say. And I convinced myself that if I did have something to say, no one would connect with or care about it. But I decided to do it anyway. 

And, low and behold, I was wrong. I woke up this morning to a few texts from someone who saw my blog post on Instagram and it moved her to share another writer that inspires her. Now that is a ripple effect. It may touch people you have not even met or produce changes in situations of which you are unaware of. You may never know the impact of your actions on others, but it doesn’t mean it is not happening.

And it goes both ways…negative actions can have log lasting ripple effects as well, and that’s not what you want to be remembered for. Drop ripples of LOVE throughout your day, because you never know who could use it!

As Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
