This year I did it!  I selected a Word of the Year.  BELIEVE.

A few individuals I know, have a new year’s ritual of selecting one word to help guide them through the year.  The first time I ever heard of doing it was when my friend Lynn talked about “grace” being her Word Of The Year. She had such a peaceful presence to her that I thought man I want to do that.

Unfortunately, years would come and go, and I would forget to select a word.

This year was different though; this year I remembered!   I lit a candle, turned on some soft music, and sat with myself.  It took some time to select the word because two words came to the top. But after great thought, I decided that my guiding word for 2021 will be BELIEVE

BELIEVE represents a variety of different areas for me, but first and for most, it is about believing in self. In selecting it, I was thinking about my 2021 goals-where I want to go and what I want to accomplish. I tend to doubt myself.  So, this simple but fierce word has the power to help me accomplish my desires.

I Have What It Takes

When I think about who I want to be in 1, 5, or 10 years, I always pay attention to what steps do I have to be INTENTIONAL about to get there.  What I want to remind myself of is, “what do I need to BELIEVE about myself!”

This word will be a reminder when doubt starts to bubble up. I will stop, evaluate, and remind myself of what I know to be true. There IS more than enough for everyone!  I HAVE what it takes!

Because here is the thing, no person is more deserving than another!  We all deserve to have our desires met!
